Christopher Guerrero, 82, and former pastor of the Church of San Juan Bautista de Archena, held this afternoon in the same parish an inaugural proclamation of Easter very emotional and a deep religious background.
Initially explained the meaning of each of the images procession parades in almost every Easter.
Mainly referred to the faith of every believer and brother and recounted some of the passages that are represented in any of the usual parade floats.
He also highlighted the celebration of Mass as the most basic and essential element of the forthcoming celebrations of passion.
In one of his paragraphs of his opening speech made particular reference to the 'Unlocking' (one of the events of Holy Week most typical and peculiar Archena) and made a simple tribute to the two families archeneras that several generations are helping to do .
Christopher Ros Guerrero was born in Lorca, although his childhood and youth was developed in Totana, was pastor of San Juan Bautista de Archena nearly 25 years, during which he could reshape the existing Parish (XVIII) of San Juan and build another, the Church Corpus-La Purisima, as well as develop and promote many of the innovations currently being developed in Archena Easter.
Easter parades in Archena are being held for more than 200 years and carry the hallmark of Regional Tourist Interest.
After the proclamation of Guerrero, Mayor Archena, Manuel Marcos Sánchez Cervantes, President of the Cabildo and Guilds Higher Archena, Juan Pio Abenza, given the badge of gold and a trophy to the Town Crier and the Nazarene of the Year, Julio Lopez, Brotherhood of St. John the Evangelist.
The event was well attended by directors of the various fraternities and sororities Archena Easter, representatives of the Civil Guard, the two parishes, the Military Hospital, and most of the Municipal Corporation archenera.
