Around three hundred people, men and women, have focused this afternoon on the plaza of Spain, to protest against some women suffering abuse from their husbands or companions.
Also in this act, the spokesman for the Municipal Government Team, Patricia Fernández, read a manifesto which highlighted in particular that "there are many wars, but the most cruel, the most attentive to the dignity is gender violence."
He commented further that "we can only hope that future generations are aware of this problem and we are providing them with enough education to prevent this from happening."
After reading, there was a minute's silence for the 53 victims of this violence that is recorded this year in Spain.
The demonstration was also attended by young people with placards that read 'the male batterer will kill you' or 'perpetrator have no value. "
This was the main event of the day today, November 25, World Day Against Gender Violence.
In the early morning hours, local public radio, was organized a round table, attended by professionals of CAVI (Care Center Women Victims of Violence) Archena, a local police chief, Rosalie Robles, technical charge of the Department Equal Archena and Santiago Fernandez, coordinator of the group "Men and Gender Equality."
In this radio show is about how it works in every department of the aforementioned center of the state of law prior to these problems of violence, what are the functions of CAVI support and work towards equality.
The program of events organized by the Department of Equality Archena City Council began Monday with the placement of a commemorative banner in the main balcony of City Hall and various lectures and practical training on gender equality in schools and colleges in the municipality.
