The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, today, X Regional Youth Participation Fair 'Youth Zone 2009', to be held at the fairgrounds Archena from 16 to 18 October.
The presentation ceremony of the fair was also attended by the director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, and Mayor of Archena, Marcos Manuel Sanchez.
Involvement Fair, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary, meet for three days to a total of 130 youth organizations in the Region of Murcia to develop more than 350 cultural and leisure organized and developed by the participating groups themselves .
These figures make the meeting, Cruz said, "the largest exhibition of youth associations in the Region of Murcia and one of the largest in the Spanish scene."
Fundamental objective, the fair aims to "bring the fact of youth associations, that they acquire a knowledge of what is the commitment to society, a fundamental requirement for the inclusion of them in it, and especially that knowledge is always done from a recreational point of view, thus combining knowledge with fun, "noted the director.
'Youth Zone' has become a meeting and exchange of projects and initiatives between local and regional associations, which can bring youth association movement, activities and objectives of organizations and youth groups in the region of Murcia.
This year we have organized different activities like live radio, parades, concerts, theater, exhibitions, 'jam sessions', painting, dance, intercultural activities, disability, juggling, film, cultural workshops, literature, scavenger hunts, hip hop graffiti, among others.
In addition, booths will be installed 100 youth organizations with information for young people.
A total of 50 secondary schools in the region visit 'Zona Joven 2009' also provides assistance to more than 25,000 people.
'Youth Zone'
'Youth Zone' is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, through the Institute for Youth, in collaboration with the Youth Council of the Region of Murcia and Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM).
Specifically, for the fair this year has a budget of 154,000 euros from the CAM provides 54,000 euros, and the remaining 100,000 euros, the Youth Institute while the local Consistory provide technical support.
Since its inception in 2000, more than 400 associations, organizations and youth groups have participated and organized more than 3,000 activities in the Youth Participation Fair and the Fair has received total more than 200,000 visitors.
Since 2006, this meeting comes as travelers visiting different cities in order to reach more youth.
So far it has held in Murcia (2000 to 2005), Cartagena (2006), Molina de Segura (2007) and Lorca (2008).
This time will be represented different cultural entities, social, political, union, student, artistic, and environmental cooperation, as well as actively participate Department of Citizen Services, Drug Dependency and Consumer Affairs, the Environmental Volunteer Program in Natural Region Murcia, the Directorate General of Vocational and Adult Education, the Youth Institute of Spain, the Youth Council of the City of Archena and CAM.
