Archena Spa played host on Sunday with 123 members of the first round of the Senior Tourism Program 2009, sponsored by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration, which this year has offered 9,000 places, two thousand more than in the campaign above.
The counselor visited last night Bascuñana Joaquin components of this first group, which will remain in the Bath until Saturday, and was accompanied by Senior General Manager, Paloma Recio, the mayor of Archena, Marcos Manuel Sanchez, the director general the Spa, Miguel Lloret, and the director of Travel Olympia, Antonio Guillén.
Participants are between 59 and 85 years, and most, 34, comes from Murcia, Cartagena, 21 and 10 in San Pedro del Pinatar.
The rest are from Alhama (2), Sewell (8), Aledo (3), Alguazas (2), Bullas (4), Caravaca (4), Cieza (1), Jumilla (4), Lorca (6), Mazarron (4), Molina (7), Puerto Lumbreras (2), San Javier (2), Cotillas Towers (6), Totana (1), Ulea (1) and Yecla (1).
Of these, 78 are women and 45 men.
In the first phase of the program, which began last July 1, 5200 seats were sold, of which 2,000 are for the Costa Calida (at 63 euros per person); 1,200 for Health Tourism (to 132.5 euros) ; 1,000 for the Costa Blanca (to 90.73 euros) and 1,000 for the Costa del Sol (a 143.17 euros).
The autonomous region has provided 1,500,000 euros, 300,000 more than in 2008.
The destinations that include these vacation packages are the Costa Calida, with two points to stay in La Manga del Mar Menor and Eagles, and excursions to Mazarron, Lorca, Sierra Minera de La Unión y Valle de Ricote.
In short, five days full board, including transportation and excursions.
Another destination is the Costa Blanca, which focuses on Benidorm, Alicante and Elche tours for six days.
The third is the Costa del Sol, Fuengirola is visiting from, with excursions to Malaga, Mijas and the region of Axarquia.
And finally, the Health Program, which targets Archena Spa.
The second phase will take place between January and April 2010 and she has the remaining 3,800 places.
Of the 2,660 seats were reserved for people who had not traveled in the previous season, 50 percent of those offered were sold in the first twelve hours.
The remaining 2,540 seats went on sale the next day for seniors who had traveled from the previous season, and in one hour booking system collapsed.
In order to prevent the same thing happen in the second phase of sales campaign, from 1 to 7 September can book only those who did not travel last season and have no active reserve.
After this period, the places are allocated in proportion to the number of inhabitants per population range from different municipalities of the Region, and will reserve a specific day of sale for each municipality.
The September 14 deadline will be opened sales for vacancies.
