The Municipal Socialist Archena City Council has endorsed the proposal of the People's request the Government of Spain to revive again the Ebro transfer as this might be the ultimate solution to water problems in the Spanish Levante in general and Murcia Region in particular.
Archena Mayor, Manuel Marcos Sánchez Cervantes, has been highlighted and emphasized the initiative of the Socialists archeneros to approve these proposals in the local PP.
In this petition approved by the two groups mentioned above, also explains that "the City of Archena regrets the abolition of the Ebro transfer 5 years ago, has been a very bad decision for the development of the Region of Murcia."
The Mayor also referred in this proposal to the negative conclusion on 29 June, the fifth anniversary of the repeal, "so negative decision which launched an era black and disastrous for our country, which has not any new measures taken in five years and has also paved the way for a repeal of the Tajo-Segura ", also said.
The critical first local authority in this proposal that "the entire regulatory process of national water basins and solidarity between surplus and deficit basins posed by the National Hydrological Plan, approved in 2001, was abolished in an irresponsible and very damaging to the interests of our region, through the adoption by the Socialist Government in 2004 the Royal Decree which amended the Act of PHN and that was the repeal of the Ebro transfer to the Region of Murcia, voting to repeal the socialists Murcia ".
