Archena was the setting for the awards ceremony of the fourth edition of the Illustrated Story Contest Consum Community of Murcia.
The event was held at the Cultural Center of Archena, as the local school "Segura River", won first prize.
The event was attended by the Director General of Citizen and Consumer Affairs, Juan Manuel Ruiz, Executive Consum institutional relations, Carmen Councillor Picot and Trade of the municipal corporation archenera, Mari-Trini Gomez Medina.
This year's competition, organized on the occasion of World Consumer Day, is aimed at encouraging the consumption of vegetables under the theme "Cooking up a story with vegetables and have good manners."
The school "Segura River" Archena won the first prize for the story titled "Lentejita happy again" and places "IES Miguel de Cervantes" de Murcia and the College "The Immaculate Conception" Yecla, received the second and third prize respectively.
330 stories were submitted to the competition, representing a stake of more than 3,000 schoolchildren from Valencia, Catalonia, Murcia, Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia.
It fought three awards for each region, valued at 2,000 euros on 1, $ 1,000 on 2 nd prize and 500 euros the 3 rd prize and two runners of $ 1,000 for special schools and occupational centers, respectively.
Besides financial support, the winners will be part of the book collection of the Library consumption Consum.
The aim is to raise smaller on the right to health of consumers and the desirability of introducing a regular basis, certain foods in the diet.
By participating in the competition the students demonstrate they know the nutritional benefits of foods, are encouraged to build healthy lifestyles and become aware of the benefits they bring to their own growth.
Illustrated stories are presented in groups, and this is a team effort with the participation of students coordinated and led by their teachers with a method to work on several subjects into one project.
The jury praised the promotion of healthy lifestyles and healthy, creativity and amenity, the adaptation of the story to the proposed theme, team spirit and coherence between the text and images that illustrate it.
Also in this edition, the stories have been included as a novelty, a recipe with vegetables, in order to encourage participation and interest in the art of cooking healthy, easy and secure.
