One hundred women, mostly members of various local authorities, yesterday attended the opening night of the nineteenth week of Women held in Archena until 27 March, on the occasion of March 8, International Human Rights Day Women.
The Mayor, Manuel Marcos Sánchez Cervantes, was in charge of the opening and said in his speech launching the CAVI (Service Center for battered women) in the locality.
He stressed the importance of their existence, as it currently had registered 60 cases of gender violence in the township.
He also spoke of the municipal 'Council', for many women to work without problems leave their children in the hands of specialist.
I also explained the Equality Plan, adopted at the last plenary session, which will be launched shortly and, finally, publicly read the Manifesto of March 8, International Day of Women's Rights.
In the opening ceremony involved the Equal Councilman, Rosario Navarro, who presented the program of events this week for Women, and the president of the Association of Women Archena, Mupa, Maria Trinidad Gomez, who spoke of his association and the night musical group Abba.
The event was closed by the municipal department in charge of the Press, speaking of the decade of the seventies and the film was screened for all attendees: the musical 'Mamma Mia', whose main argument running through the songs Swedish group Abba.
The program continues tonight with a performance by the soloist Karina, and the weekend with a play on Saturday and Sunday with a regional meeting in Murcia.
