Archena City Council has demanded that the National Government increased financial support for local corporations and the creation of a new model of local financing.
In the same letter, the City Council has also Archena the Government of Spain claimed the urgent reform of local finance model connected to the reform of regional financing model.
Archena City Council, in the same manner, asked, urgently, that by the year 2009 the National Government to take four immediate steps to provide liquidity to local councils, how they're doing with the financial system as announced will do with SMEs.
These are the measures that the City Council has asked Archena:
1 .- Create a line in the local credit ICO, amounting to 5,000 million euros, which has the priority target funding delays in payments to the companies that build many municipalities.
2 .- endorse the State guarantee debt issues of major municipalities to facilitate the placement of these emissions to a maximum of 4,000 million euros.
3 .- That the State Budget climb the contribution to the municipalities of the State Fund, at least 3.9 percent.
4 .- That the Government of Spain approved as it is doing with other sectors, an Emergency Plan with a significant amount.
According to the spokesperson of the Popular Party in the City of Archena, Patricia Fernandez, "the problems of local government are currently funding regarding the fixing of its resources and now the matter is still not on the agenda of the Prime Minister ".
Fernandez insists that "with the current economic crisis is a large number of municipalities that are in a situation of economic suffocation and thus hinders the delivery of essential public services.
