The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, attended the inauguration of Paraguayan Archena Hispanic Center.
The event was attended by the mayor of Archena and members of the local corporation of the municipality, the consul of Paraguay in Madrid, Malaga, Elche, Valencia and Albacete, as well as the Head of the Foreign Office.
The event was attended by a hundred of Paraguay and the Minister stressed the increase of 47 percent in the Paraguayan population in the Region for the year 2007.
Census are currently 2,372 persons, residing in Archena 1,200 of them.
Along with Archena, Fuente Alamo is the second largest municipality with Paraguayan population (about 800 people surveyed).
The percentage of the total foreign population in the region accounts for 1.05 percent.
The center opened is configured as a meeting place of interest and motivation of the Paraguayan population in Archena, and among its highlights for the promotion of integration at all levels, support and management guidance to government documents, etc. ., both of which highlighted the Minister in his speech.
