In 1995, during the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing by the UN, the idea of holding a Rural Women's Day, in response to the need to disseminate the problems faced by rural women and raise public awareness about them.
This celebration today joined more than 50 countries around the world.
Gender-specific statistics warn that most poor people in the world are women.
They start with a disadvantage compared to men, since they are the last to have access to resources or training, but also, because of family responsibilities that they have had to endure, are often those who remain in their locations.
From Archena Young Socialists saw the need to publicize and educate the public about the importance of rural and its possibilities, through a dynamic economy and society in rural areas, which from a realistically look for formulas necessary to achieve equal opportunities for young people, with particular emphasis on young women, and facilitate access to culture and education and the promotion of partnership, participation and youth information.
Almost a year after the adoption of the Law of Sustainable Rural Development, which proposes the maintenance of the rural population and improving their living conditions, we highlight some of the objectives achieved, such as increasing and improving coordination care that the government offered to rural areas, which has led to the incorporation of young rural assets and the promotion of women, and have advanced to maintain the population.
Spanish rural women has focused on their training, information and new technologies.
Has claimed their rights, denounced discrimination, participating in society, and held positions of responsibility, breaking many schemes and desmasculinizando the environment from the standpoint of equality and progress.
For all this, of Socialist Youth Archena we want to join the celebration of this day, claiming that equal opportunity in employment, education, society, politics and family stewardship, is everyone's job and of all, and especially of young people, who are a vital group for the support of rural areas.
