Municipal Government Board has approved the execution of a collaboration agreement between the Autonomous Community and the City of Murcia for joint activities aimed at promoting citizen participation in public life and to implement complementary actions on transparency.

Both administrations agree to take the necessary measures to implement the principle of partnership between public administrations, as pillars of the new governance in the context of Open Government, as is apparent from the model adopted Convention.

The City of Murcia is committed to encouraging the existing rules in order to promote an active and effective citizen participation in public policy of the municipality, facilitating processes and enhance citizen participation instruments that allow effective participation.

It is also specified in the agreement that the City should establish a specific area of ​​responsibility in terms of citizen participation and appoint an official within the City of Murcia and promote a Code of Good Governance of the elected City Council.

Meanwhile the Autonomous Community undertakes to support, advise and facilitate specialized equipment and infrastructure to the City Council in these matters, and to promote training activities on transparency, participation and good governance.
