The Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Pagan, presented today in Murcia the Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation will serve to promote and coordinate the actions to be developed on this subject in the different municipalities, exchange experiences between the different administrations and propose actions joint, with the aim of "promoting the involvement of society in public life".
This was announced by Maria Dolores Pagan during the signing of the 'Regional Commitment to Citizen Participation' with Mayor Patricia Fernandez, whereby Archena becomes part of that network, which will help the municipality to "implement actions' Open Government 'that we are already underway in the region. "
Pagan said the 'Archena Smart' project as an incentive to citizen participation in the municipality, noting that "the network will be a definite boost to this council, because we are convinced that the involvement of residents in decision-making generates higher quality public policies that will have an extra legitimacy, counting from the beginning with the support of these ".
The Minister of the Presidency said that "the regional government is committed to take the necessary measures so that any citizen who wants to participate in public affairs can make it simple, efficient and agile way measures."
The minister recalled that his department defined channels of citizen participation in the region of Murcia and in this regard, citing public input and public consultations will be through the Internet, citizens' initiatives that will need to have 6,000 signatures and the forums and participatory deliberation processes.
Commitments Network
The adhesion of municipalities to this regional initiative involves, among other things, a commitment to promote public participation processes for the development of measures involving neighbors.
In return, the Autonomous Community will provide support, advice and training in this matter to local authorities.
In addition, the Ministry will create a space in the Transparency Portal Community with links to relevant web sites of municipalities and provide IT support necessary for the publication of municipal databases and reusable open format in a single portal regional open data.
