The Ministry of Education and Universities, in collaboration with the City of Murcia, has already implemented more than half of the work on the new College of Education and Primary Miguel Medina, which has a deadline of two years and a higher budget three million euros.
Patricia Fernandez, Mayor of Murcia, said that the works of this new school going at a good pace.
The school has a capacity of nine groups and 18 Primary Children's, allowing the municipality to provide modern educational facilities and meet the demands of the population of the municipality, since it has more than the current school online.
Plus there's room, a gym and other sports facilities, which involves providing useful space for education and sport in the center of Archena.
The First Municipal Authority said that the general classrooms of said complex is partly completed;
the dining room and other classroom buildings are with the entire structure and phase partitioning and facilities, as is the case in the main or block access;
and the gym, the roof and facade is almost finished and changing are running.
The new school, which has a 'V' and replaces the current dating from the early thirties of the last century, will have a floor area of ​​nearly five thousand square meters and occupies the land of the former Institute Vicente Medina.
Distribution of school
Block one of the new center, with façade to the Daniel Ayala Avenue, it will feature three floors, occupying the ground floor of the kindergarten classrooms and other facilities for counseling, administration, secretarial, toilets and others.
The first floor is for the classrooms of first and second cycle;
and the second to the third cycle classrooms and a covered terrace as a nature classroom and graphic expression.
The second block, street fronting Las Eras, also will have three levels: low for room, kitchen and its annexes, library and multipurpose room;
and the second and the third for the remaining aularios first, second and third cycles, law associations and other uses.
The main block is the access, the most emblematic and prominent part of the access from the outside, treated as a large hall, both outside and inside, and have two classrooms elliptical whose use will be for music workshops and graphic expression.
Finally, the block of the gym is on the western edge of the site, has a plant height and have all the services of such infrastructure.
The deadline for execution of the project is 24 months and it is expected that students and teachers can release this new educational infrastructure in 2016-2017 course, this being one of the major projects set by the Municipal Government Team to improve quality of education in the municipality.
