The 'Smart Archena' project consists of a master plan based on new technologies (ICT) and whose main objective is to make a smart Archena spa town.
Ramon Luis Valcarcel, among other European authorities knew firsthand this project, since its function is to engage in the pursuit of European funds for the realization of the same and has assured that it has already presented this project in various European departments.

The 'Smart Archena' project will revolve around four main axes such as energy efficiency, tourism, trade union and Spa for enhancing all tourism, as the city of Archena is recording a rising tourism occupation of 71 % since last year.
The Mayor has also defended in Brussels: "Talking about tourism in Murcia is to focus on wellness, so this project seeks to exploit this tourism to the fullest with a mobility plan that will get the tourist is even more access to areas and facilities in the municipality.
