Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno and Holy Sepulchre in Archena new headquarters will have a museum financed with funds from the European Leader program.
The headquarters will be built on a plot owned by the Brotherhood located in the Payment of Barranco, Viriato Street, with an area of ​​250 square meters.
The Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment, Adela Martinez-Cache, yesterday attended the laying of the first stone by the Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez and Counsellor of the Brotherhood, Alfonso Alburquerque and Team members Municipal government and local residents.
The headquarters building represents an investment of 256,000 euros, which will be funded by the European program 'Leader', under the supervision of architect José Montoro archenero.
This project of the 'Leader' program, with funding from the EAFRD (in which the Community and The Department for Agriculture, Food and Environment participates) belongs to the Local Action Group GARI Vega del Segura, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Irrigation and Rural Development of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment.
The museum will house three floors.
On the ground floor the museum will be located where the heritage of the Brotherhood will be discussed, as thrones, carvings, banners, flags, robes, costumes century and a permanent photographic exhibition, and will be visited throughout the year.
The remaining floors will be devoted to the administrative area and activity of the Brotherhood.
Archena Easter, a tradition that dates back to the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, was declared of Regional Tourist Interest in 1995. The Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, founded in 1744, it is the oldest and largest in the city, 300 brothers.
The brotherhood has no headquarters and currently stores its images and thrones in a warehouse.
