The Mayor Patricia Fernandez presented today at the Museum of Archena the Route of the Ãberos- Landscapes of Thad, a project that proposes the visit to ten municipalities in the region, being Archena the starting point of the first stage.
The Mayor said that the people of Archena is delighted to be included in this tourist route.
Patricia Fernández has highlighted the importance of the Iberian stage in the history of Spain and referred to the Iberian glass of warriors, which was a style known as Elche-Archena.
He would not dismiss the seminar without wishing "every success and long life to this new cultural tourism activity."
To finish presenting this seminar speakers have spoken Molina José Antonio Gómez, archaeologist and professor at the University of Murcia, Francisco Peñalver Aroca, Director of the Archaeological Museum of Cehegin.
The municipalities that make up this route are Murcia, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegin, Coy / Lorca, Cieza, Fortuna.
Moratalla, Mula, Jumilla and Yecla.
The objective of this project is the dissemination and enhancement of Iberian culture in rural areas of the Region of Murcia through its Iberian archaeological sites, interpretive centers and partner museums, where the "Iberian treasures" are set , ie, fundamental archaeological pieces that are nestled on the banks of the River Segura.
The route is a Intrarregional Cooperation Project promoted by local action groups in the Region of Murcia under the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 of the Concierge of Agriculture and Water and is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Region of Murcia.
