The Director of Social Services of the City of Murcia, Francisco Coll, presented to the Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez, the program on 'Care of Children and Adolescents', which will be developed in the town, making Murcia, for being the first Region, a pioneer in doing so.
The program aims to promote opportunities for promoting the prevention of psycho-evolutional development difficulties, detection of children and youth with developmental and integration in society groups and performing specific intervention to those children and young people with problems of development and social integration and education, the most important objectives.
Agencies and institutions that participate in this program are the Molina Health Center, Pediatric Team Health Center Murcia, Counseling Team, Center for Social Services City of Murcia, Early Childhood Center of Murcia, Centers education of Murcia, IES Archena and Creative Therapy Center of the University of Murcia.
Francisco Coll, on behalf of those who make this program, the Mayor stated that the motives which brought them to undertake this initiative are, among others, the crucial importance of the proper development of the stages of childhood and adolescence, increase coordination among professionals from different institutions with direct intervention with children and adolescents and the realization that any difficulty of development is an important psychological suffering, which, if not resolved, most likely causes chronic blockages and feelings of exclusion.
