The City of Murcia began the certification process in administrative transparency, making it become the first local authority in Spain that makes this initiative.
The Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez, has signed an undertaking with the Spanish Association for Accreditation of ACREDITRA- Transparency and this is the first step towards certification.
The Mayor says that in this way gives a full account of a citizen suit, demanding it, increasingly, greater transparency in its institutions closer.
With the achievement of this process the public would have the direct and easy access to public information and governance of the City.
According to the association ACREDITRA, the objectives pursued with this certification are mainly to increase and enhance transparency in public life, recognize and ensure access to information as a right and determine obligations of good governance for public officials and penalties of default.
The College of Political Science and Sociology is the institution that created this system and be responsible for approving certification in administrative transparency.
