The secretary general of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, Manuel Sánchez Marcos, visited the site of the new College of Elementary Education and Child Miguel Medina, in Murcia, with nine groups of 18 Primary Children's and will have a capacity for 675 today students.
During the visit, the Secretary General was accompanied by the Councillor for Finance, Industry and Employment of Murcia, who serves as mayor these days, José Antonio Palazón, who discussed the educational needs of the municipality for the next course.
The secretary general of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities and the mayor could check the status of work on the new center, which began in mid-June, and involving an investment of three million euros.
At present, the work focuses on the demolition of the old building of the IES Vicente Medina, whose plot is build the new CEIP Miguel Medina.
Marcos Manuel Sánchez stressed that this new center meets the future needs of education in the municipality.
"This work is an immediate need to address the reality of the educational community Archena and provide the city with a modern and tailored to the needs of school space investment."
The new building will have a 'V' and will have a height of three storeys.
It will also be equipped with a school room, two sports fields and recreational space, as well as another block to the gym.
On the ground floor is located the dining room, library, multipurpose room and spaces for administration and secretariat, as well as the area for children rooms and gym.
The first will be the space for classrooms and offices for first and second year of primary school;
the third for the third cycle classrooms.
