The Social Centre for the Elderly Archena celebrated its fourteenth anniversary with a day of living organized in the town of Jumilla, which gathered 170 users who were accompanied by the director general of Instituto Murciano Seniors Social Action ( IMAS), Enrique Perez.
After the ceremony, Perez and the Councillor for Commerce, Consumer, Seniors and Equal Murcia, Manuela Moreno, gave the awards given by the Participation Council Senior Center to user Persons who participated in the demonstration of tapas.
Also, as is tradition in this event organized by the Social Senior Center of Murcia, a tailored orchard among attendees was raffled.
The CEO emphasized the illusion of greater than "year after year with enthusiasm and dedication, achieve this coexistence impregnated with an atmosphere of warmth and closeness."
Perez recalled the "active attitude" of the users of this Social Senior Center which, according to the latest census, it has more than 800 members of which about 500 are collaborating in the development of activities and attend 15 workshops scheduled for this course.
Currently they are conducting workshops and crafts, gymnastics, theater, literature and dance, among others, as well as chess championships or other games.
From the IMAS, Perez said, "this kind of activities and initiatives that promote active and healthy aging and help to strengthen intergenerational ties are supported."
