With the so-called 'treatment membrane electrolysis' water meets the same health standards, which brings advantages of such health, economic and microbiological
The European project cooperation LEADER 'Poseidon II' has provided a natural treatment for disinfection processes hot spring spas, as an alternative to commonly used, which are based on the use of chlorine or bromine.
The so-called 'treatment membrane electrolysis' has proven it can meet the same health standards that treatment with chlorine.
In addition, use type brings benefits health, economic, and microbiological, so you can have a promising future.
The Director General of Irrigation and Rural Development, Julio Bernal, attended the recent meeting in the German city of Bad Buchau where we presented the findings of this initiative, which have cooperated resorts of Murcia, the Adelindis Therme Bad Buchau and Pejo Terme (Italy).
In 2011, the Local Action Group Vega del Segura, based in Murcia, obtained a grant of 131,500 euros, financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Food, for their participation in this project, whose main objective was to develop and test methods thermal disinfection with less environmental impact and physiological traditional systems mentioned above.
Julio Bernal noted that regions and participating spas "offer extraordinary quality thermal and Balneotherapy regulations on the use of these waters is very rigorous."
He added that "the excellent sanitary condition of the bathing water ensure adequate protection, which prevents possible infections while using the facilities."
However, he noted, "the commonly used methods of disinfection, such as chlorine and bromine, while effective, are disadvantageous not insignificant in terms of technical implementation and for its physiological effects on bathers".
Bernal noted that "security and environmental sustainability of the systems water disinfection are crucial criteria in the management of hot springs."
In this regard, he noted that technology 'INNOWATECH Acquaron' used in the project Poseidon II, "is based on the potential of membrane electrolysis to ensure both microbiological purity and stability of the chemical composition of mineral waters".
Clinical Aspects
For the study of clinical, two groups of volunteers bathers bathed in pools treated with the new method (anolyte) and other traditional methods disinfected (chlorine and bromine).
Comparing the data from both groups (dryness sebometría, pH, elasticity, transepidermal dehydration, etc.) allowed to show that maintains the balance of the skin and no adverse effects occur even in people suffering from skin diseases or allergies or people with sensitive or reactive skin.
Participants in this project LEADER transnational cooperation were pleased with the results, which have shown that natural treatment membrane electrolysis, the water meets the same health standards, so that the door remains open to future change system both those participating spas as anywhere else you decided on this type of technology and treatment.
