The court number one of Molina de Segura has acquitted IU-Greens councilor in Murcia, Antonio Martinez, of the five complaints filed libel that four councilors of the PP in 2006 and 2007.
The complainants were the popular Manuel Marcos Sanchez, mayor of Archena during those years, Patricia, then councilor and now councilor, Francisco Fernandez and Maria Trinidad Gomez, aldermen.
Martinez said some of the allegations were "so inconsistent" and say they were insulted in the plenary session on September 25, 2006, to which Councilman IU-Green did not attend.
Prosecutors cited in legal form to take part in the trial, held last July 24, did not appear at the court date and the judge acquitted the accused.
Martinez explained that during the five dossiers presented to remove the charges.
"This case is an example of how not to crumple to the PP, who with tenacity and going with the truth before you can beat the powerful, how much power they have or think they have," added Councilman IU- Green.
