A course at the University of Mar-Campus Mare Nostrum show the properties of water as a therapeutic agent, delving into the use made of the thermal waters in the different periods of history, as well as newer treatments that are performed in this field .
The Murcia region is a leader in balneotherapy area thanks to its long tradition in this field, due to the existence in them of important medicinal mineral water springs, among which those of Murcia, Alhama Fortuna.
Medical historians and Hydrotherapy will be the speakers of this course, which will run from 9 to 12 September at the Congress Hall Hotel Spa Lion Murcia, and led by Luis Shepherd, medical director of Spa archena, Gonzalo Matilla, Professor of Ancient History at the University of Murcia and Jose Baños, Los Baños Archaeological Center in Alhama de Murcia.
The inaugural conference will focus on "Water in general and application techniques thermal treatments", and will be borne by Luis Shepherd.
The activity has a duration of 25 hours, students will be entitled to 2.5 free credits.
