About 500 people belonging to 60 clubs of fans of Athletic Bilbao from all over Spain and London are participating in Murcia in the XLI International Congress of Rocks of this legendary Basque football club.
Representatives of clubs based in Hellin, Cieza, Ibi, Lepe, El Ejido, Ciudad Real, Alcázar de San Juan, Astorga, Ibiza, Vall de Uxó, Madrid, Minglanilla and nearly a score of the Basque region and London itself only by quote some held since last Friday until this afternoon its international conference in Murcia.
At the opening, were present in addition to the Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez, and Councillors Fulgencio Garcia, Francisco Perez and Andres Rodriguez, veterans Argoitia Athletic players and Aguirre, Silvia Muriel, as a representative of the board of the Club, and Mary Jesus Lopez, president of the Federation of Peñas Bilbainas Southeast and Nicolas Lopez, president of the club organizer Archena.
After an exchange of gifts and presents, to the Mayor of Murcia two 'dancers' he dedicated the 'Aurresku' traditional Basque dance.
And this in his farewell chant intoned the typical San Mames Lions.
The opening ceremony of the congress ended with a music concert, a castle of fireworks, and vision on the big screen (the Municipal Film Summer) League Match being played at that time between Athletic and Celtic.
The archeneros visitors were shown the main parts of the municipality, typical slaughter pig, a human soccer tournament and a visit to the city of Murcia.
Congress closing this afternoon and the next one will be announced in 2014 in Valverde del Camino (Huelva).
