The Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernández López, and the Councillor for Equal Opportunity, Manuela Martinez Moreno, in the presence of the Director General on the Prevention of Violence Against Women, Youth, and Reform Legal Protection of Children, Veronica Lopez Garcia and various other social agents of the municipality (Local Police, Guardia Civil, Health Center, CAVI, Centre for Women, Social Services, Employment and Training Service, responsible for schools) has become the Bureau Against Local Coordination Gender Violence.
Archena City Council, in partnership with the community Autonomous starts thus operating this instrument work that represents all municipal areas involved, directly or indirectly, in the fight against gender violence with the aim of optimize all actions required to prevent such violence.
This table will have competition in the development of the following functions, as highlighted both the Mayor and the Director General:
To present the main priorities of each area represented; determine criteria for the early detection of cases of domestic violence in each of the areas, agree on common criteria for the detection and treatment in high-risk cases; evaluate significant mismatch between different areas and make improvement proposal; pooling and analyzing data on gender violence in each policy area, boosting the implementation of advocacy strategies / prevention aimed at the whole population, to analyze the performance of campaigns awareness and prevention made and liaise with DG fluid responsible for the matter and disseminate to all performances of gender violence prevention proposals for the same.
The overall objective of this Local Coordination Bureau is promoting in municipal, policies and actions to eradicate gender violence.
As to the specific objectives, the first municipal authority archeenera said among others the following:
1. - Improve early detection of cases of domestic violence.
2. - Optimize coordination of agents, actions and resources involved in the fight against gender violence.
3. - Provide care and a quick response to victims of violence.
4. - Improve protection to high-risk victims.
5. - Inform and educate on the subject both professionals and the general public.
