The village headman of The Algaida, Andrew Moon, presented this past weekend at six Queens of the festivity of this district archenera for this year 2012 that are Gema Gil, Maria Dolores Campuzano, Elizabeth Campillo, Marta Perez, Magdalena Lopez and Eva Marín, in a ceremony that drew hundreds of people in the courtyards of the Civic Centre Algaida and which was chaired by the Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernández.
Earlier, these festivals Crier, Miguel Marin, a retired professor from the district, gave his new and anticipated speech announcing the Holidays.
In his talk he mentioned the nooks and most emblematic places of the district and popular, and people who tried and lived during his childhood and adolescence.
After completing his opening speech, the village headman handed a tribute plaque for his speech.
The bands of the new Queens of the festivity was imposed by one of the queens of the past year, Celia Ortiz.
The festivities of the Algaida are held in honor of its patron saint and the Virgin of the Rosary will be held until September 18.
Its main and most popular events are the traditional and Azulete (the media), held on Tuesday, the 18th, the tapes bike race, on Monday, the 17th, the solemn procession of their patron saint on Sunday, day 16 and parade floats, dozens of rocks composed festive, Saturday, Oct. 15.
