Preserving the environment and fight against poverty and social exclusion.
These are the fundamental objectives for which the City Council has signed an agreement Archena collaboration with the Association of Project Abraham non profit with 15 years of experience in the care and support people, immigrants and indigenous, are in a situation risk and / or social exclusion in the Region of Murcia.
As a center of attention to excluded groups (immigrants, indigenous and under) Association Abraham Project is supported by various public and private, being especially important the cooperation received from local municipalities and autonomous community through the Ministry of Health Social Policy and Social Action Institute Murciano (Imass).
This social institution is also manager nonhazardous waste (clothing, footwear and toys), to be perfectly OK for the development of this activity by DG Environment of the Ministry of the Presidency.
By signing this cooperation agreement, the consistory of Archena adds to the challenges posed by this entity, to develop activities to promote environmental care and the integration of the most vulnerable in society.
The action plan agreed in partnership between the Association and the Abraham Project Department of Culture, Tourism and Environment of the City of Archena includes:
implementation in the municipality archenero container collection of clothing, footwear and toys, action of the reduced disposal of these wastes in a landfill and therefore reduce the environmental impact caused by these urban waste in the environment .
On the other hand, the activities of collection and management of these wastes and the maintenance of containers enables the creation of jobs, contributing to the economic development of our region.
The development of the awareness campaign "Do not throw away, give it to me" that aims to promote the recycling of these wastes in education in the municipality, through lectures given by raising the technical team of the organization, supported by an educational material has the support of the Autonomous Community.
Activities aimed at integrating people experiencing social exclusion Archena Township.
As in other municipalities, the association offers the following workshops in Murcia socio-occupational training: sewing, cobbler, camera operator and computer, with no cost to the council.
The association launched the workshops in 2007 with the help of the Autonomous Community which funded all the equipment and are currently being developed for all municipalities to cooperate in implementing social and environmental programs of the Partnership Project Abraham.
Donation of mattresses, clothing, shoes and other items from companies working with the association, so that through social services donated to individuals or families in need of the municipality.
