The full City Council unanimously adopted Archena (9 councilors PP, PSOE 5, 2 and 1 IU UidP) award the Gold Medal of the City to Ditch 'Archena Main' and 'The Caravija' of the municipality, a record which began in extraordinary plenary session on 11 April 2011.
The file contains, among other arguments, that "for centuries the main occupation of the residents of Archena has been agriculture.
Thanks to the dedication and tenacity of the neighbors got up in a fertile plain of the Segura, maximizing irrigation systems inherited from the ancestors (there are reports of ditches from the early fifteenth century), which are still used still today '......' In this same session has taken over a new mayor, in particular the formation UidP, Ana Belen Martinez Gonzálvez.
Replaces Thomas Molina, who resigned last month for reasons he said himself in his day, "labor only".
Ana Belen Martinez is a native of Archena Gonzálvez and mother of three children.
Holds Doctor of the University Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca of Murcia.
He is 42 years.
