Patricia Fernandez, Mayor of Murcia, received yesterday morning the scientist, researcher and doctor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Pedro Jiménez Guerrero, archenero, who has been awarded by the Royal Academy of Engineering for Best Young Investigator 2011.
Pedro Jimenez was born and educated in Murcia to the degree.
With 32 years his scientific career has developed at NASA, the University of California and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
He works as a teacher, also in the Univesidad of Murcia and is an expert on the relationship between pollution and climate change.
During the ceremony, the mayor gave him a diploma of recognition and support for his scientific work, research and university and congratulated him on his important work done and published, as well as received various awards and even internationally.
He also very proud to have in the municipality with such illustrious countrymen and winners like and wished him many more successes in his young career.
