The Municipal Government Board has approved this morning Archena its commitment to 'aid program to replace traffic signal lenses to the new LED technology,' which will bring the City of Archena savings of more than 5,000 kilowatts, annual consumption , ie a 70 percent savings in electricity consumption annually.
This would involve replacing the optics of the current six points of light from the urban center of the municipality, incandescent or halogen type, for more efficient LED lamps.
The aforementioned program, under the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, global aims to replace traditional lamps and other high-lights and LED technology that will save per 1,000 lights of 960 MWh of electricity annually.
Furthermore, according to Councillor responsible Andrés Luna, these new lights have two important advantages such as increased visibility, even against the sun and a low maintenance and long life (they have a 30,000 hours life in use).
Affected traffic light points are in seaweed, junction with Main Street, Avenue Mario Spreafico with Avda Pedro Guillen, Avda Spreafico with Camino Cemetery, Calle Ramon y Cajal, Iron Bridge and Park Lane with Avda del Carril.
