The spokesman for IU-Greens in the city of Murcia, Antonio Martinez, said today that the government team of the town has increased by 10 percent the salary of the council of PP, and likewise that of the mayor, who spends of 44,950 in the previous term to the current 49,000 euros.
Martinez, who was speaking after learning that the council has submitted a statement in which he states that "No mayor of the government team will be released," said that all council members of the PP "not released" will have a monthly allowance of 800 euros, compared with 713 in the last 4 years.
As for the mayors of the opposition has indicated they will receive 200 euros per month, 43 less than last term, representing a reduction of 18 percent.
"It's bad enough that in times of crisis the politicians come up salary, but is more serious to lie to the public and say we do not have," he underlined.
Martinez has also indicated that the former mayor's salary amounted to 44,590 euros and the PP has approved its increase up to 49,000 euros, although the current council member is free to 80 percent "support to enjoy a private activity and exercise."
