The action will mean the preservation of traditional iron bridge that gives access to downtown and allow simultaneous traffic in both directions
The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Highways Agency carries out the preparatory phase for the transfer of the deck of the bridge over the river Segura, in Archena who will initiate the installation of the new footbridge pedestrian in the municipality.
Technicians of the Ministry carry out a data collection to prepare the foundation where it will be transferred the existing bridge deck.
He stated the general director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, the goal is "to preserve this traditional structure is part of the historical heritage of the municipality and that, currently, gives access to the city center."
Also, the action involves the construction of a new infrastructure that will allow simultaneous traffic in both directions of traffic.
This is a bridge 183 meters long and 13 meters wide, and two lanes of 3.5 meters, will have 1.5-meter sidewalks.
