The Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, presented today at the center of Restoration of the Region of Murcia, eight paintings from the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia (MUBAM), a painting of St. Francis Xavier Mission of Church of San Juan Bautista de Murcia and three pieces of pottery from the Cabezo Archena Uncle Pio.
Enrique said that the works Ujaldón delivered today "show the richness and diversity of the heritage of the region and from the Restoration Center works to maintain this heritage in the best condition possible."
The paintings from the permanent collection of MUBAM, dating from the seventeenth and twentieth centuries are: 'Portrait of Alfredo Carreras' by Joaquin Sorolla, "San Jerónimo escrituario 'by José Ribera,' Margarita trying on jewels 'of Juan Martínez Pozo' Portrait of a Lady 'by José Balaca,' Calves 'Alexander Seiquer;' Barbershop 'by Luis Garay;' Tribute coins 'attributed to Luca Giordano, "Moses delivering the Tablets of the Law to the Israelites' Paul Potons.
The performances will take place on small gaps and reintegrate former altered, homogenization of varnish, to remove some altered and regenerate other, as in the case of the painting of 'Saint Jerome by Ribera. "
In addition to reviewing historical frameworks to recover carved decorations (rockery plant scrolls, geometric patterns) and gold that once were lost or deteriorated, as the extraordinary frame of the painting of Joseph Balaca.

Have also been restored three pieces of pottery "newly discovered" on the hill of Uncle Pio Archena and "will be exhibited in the future Museum of Archena" said Ujaldón.
This is part of the necropolis with a timeline around the eighth century BC that have decorative motifs in horizontal registers a schematic plant decoration (spirals, drops, stars) and geometric.
The Restoration Center is involved for the first time on archaeological pieces, a task previously carried out in the Archaeological Museum.
