Following the round of meetings that the mayoral candidate for UIdP Archena, Brigido Palazón Garrido, and its Executive Committee have maintained with various groups and residents of the village, on January 20, 2011, held a meeting in the Market of Supply, with merchants of various positions, to continue the preparation of a participatory electoral program.
Fearing traders on the possible closure of its facilities from UIdP were told that our program does not contemplate, in any case.
Instead they said it is necessary, in our opinion, a major rehabilitation to once again be the focus of development and dynamism that was at other times.
Something shared by the attendees at the meeting and also added that work effectively the market work better than the rest of the village shops.
Archena all trade should be enhanced, because it is suffering a significant deterioration, but the Market is a cornerstone, not only because of the large number of traders, but attractive and iconic image that the building should project, and also the proper functioning of the market for people coming from other places to shop while visiting other shops in town.
Traders feel abandoned by the current government because they believe that the city's claim to be closing all positions, in order to permanently eliminate the market.
Reported that necessary investments are made and that is bringing small business owners who abandon their posts, and also give few licenses to open, with time constraints, which make it impossible for new entrepreneurs implement their trade in the municipal premises.
The candidate UIdP, Brigido Palazón, is committed primarily to keep the market also to make the necessary rehabilitation to improve their appearance, to enable all positions are closed to the introduction of new merchants, in order to more dynamic, and put all derelict and now, some of them are dedicated for storage without any commercial activity.
The Market has to be a symbol of people's identity.
