Infierno de Lorena, by Mª Lucas Robles, won the first prize of the II Short Story Contest Lorenzo Silva, organized by the Concerted Center "Colegio El Ope" and the City of Archena, the second was for Ashes of War, Elisa Marín Espinosa and the third prize went to Never escape from hell, by Lucía Ortiz Camacho.
The winners, as well as the finalists received, from Lorenzo Silva, the diplomas and prizes of this act.
The II Lorenzo Narrative Narrative Contest is organized by the Concert Center "Colegio El Ope" and the City Council of Archena.
This event was attended by Noelia Arroyo Hernández (Minister of Transparency and Spokesperson of the Regional Government), Patricia Fernández López (Mayor of Archena), Mª Esperanza Moreno Reventós (General Director of Educational Quality), Nuria Fuentes García Lax (General Director of Social Economy) and, of course, the writer Lorenzo Silva.
A national prize for young people between 12 and 18 years, whose delivery was in charge of Lorenzo Silva himself, a reference in the world of letters.
Nine were the chosen ones, among 142 received stories, that reached the final, for their literary quality and their imagination, according to sources of the educational center.
On this occasion the jury was composed of Javier Hernández Gil (Deputy Director General of Educational Centers of the Ministry of Education and Professor of Language and Literature), Juan García Iborra (Bachelor of English Philology and Head of Education Programs Service of the Ministry of Education ), Juan Antonio Pedreño Frutos (President of UCOERM), who delegated the appointment to José Antonio Pascual Ruiz (President of Vega Media and member of the Rector Council of UCOERM), Pedro Pablo Carrillo López (Professor of Primary Education), Mª Piedad García Linares (professor of Spanish Language and Literature), Mario Alcaraz Mármol (councilor of education of the city council of Archena) and Juan Ramón Barat (writer and professor of Spanish Language and Literature).
Antonia Ramírez Martínez, director of the "el Ope" School, highlighted the commitment of the Center for Literature, and thanked Anaya, Balneario de Archena, la Caixa, Archena City Council, and the authorities for their support. this award, and the finalists, as well as the attendees, their presence.
The mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernandez, meanwhile, stressed the pride that means for this town to have a national prize, which bears the name of the great writer Lorenzo Silva, and the support of the City Council "El Ope College".
It was the writer Lorenzo Silva himself, who closed this act, praising the finalists, as well as the winners, for that effort and for believing in literature, and in its creation.
He also explained that the Nadal prize, which did not win, but was a finalist, has been one of his best achievements, explaining that everything is not win and, finally, he confessed to being an adopted son of Murcia, and of Archena, where he considers that he has his second home.
