President Fernando López Miras met today at the Palacio de San Esteban with the mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, to discuss some of the most important projects in the municipality.
They approached the terms of bidding, awarding and completion of the construction of a new bridge over the Segura River in Archena, an action that was approved last week by the Government Council and which will allocate 4.1 million euros.
The mayor also transferred to the head of the regional executive a project of rehabilitation and reorganization of the entire old town of Archena, with an investment of 400,000 euros, and that will have the support of the Community.
The project includes the construction of a parking deterrent in the center of the town that serves the large influx of tourists, mostly from the Balneario de Archena.
During this meeting, Patricia Fernandez also asked the president for help from the Regional Restoration Center to act on three religious images of the municipality, such as the Christ of Calvary, the Virgin of the Rosary and the Sorrowful Virgin.
