The promoters of 'The challenge of Pablo' have visited this morning to the mayor Patricia Fernandez to propose that Archena join this private initiative that aims to raise funds for research against childhood cancer, as reported from the consistory in a statement.
Together with the mayor, they were responsible for the Balneario de Archena, which have also been predisposed and will collaborate with this challenge.
On this occasion, it is a group of people from Totana who will walk 150 Kilometers, for three days, and pass through the town councils of Cieza, Abarán, Blanca, Ricote, Ojós, Ulea, Villanueva del Río Segura, and Archena between others, in order to raise funds to aid in the investigation of childhood cancer.
Pablo is one of the many children who suffer some type of childhood cancer.
When he was barely 2 years and 9 months old, he was detected and his first years were spent from hospital to hospital.
"At first without being very aware of what I had and certainly not imagining how that disease had changed the life of the whole family," explained the child's mother.
Pablo is recovered and living the life that every child of 5 years should have.
The trance of going through this situation put the parents of little Pablo in an all-out fight and they have not stopped trying to find funds that help other children and other families not to have to go through this.
This is how Pablo's challenge was born.
