The Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, accompanied by the Councilor for Women, Mari Carmen Alcolea, professional techniques of its municipal department, as well as the rest of Councilors of the Government Team and other councilors of the Corporation and before 200 people has read the Institutional Manifesto corresponding to the International Day against Gender Violence, at the door of the Town Hall, in the Plaza de España.
Since last Saturday, the Department of Women develops a program of events on the occasion of this commemoration and that will last until Saturday morning with a tribute to the victims of gender violence.
Among other issues, the Mayor has referred to "gender violence constitutes the greatest violation of rights, basic freedoms, and is against the principles of equality, security, freedom, integrity and dignity that are inherent to all beings humans".
He also assured during the reading that "from the City of Archena we state that the institutional involvement against this scourge must go hand in hand with society, that women are not alone in the face of abuse, that there are means and resources to ensure adequate assistance , sufficient and necessary to guarantee the recovery of all victims of gender violence ".
