The managing director of the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), Veronica Lopez, opened today along with the mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernandez, the market of the 1st Handicraft Regional Fair of people with disabilities.
This initiative, promoted by the Community in collaboration with the City of Archena, aims to facilitate meeting spaces and coexistence to all Day Centers and give visibility to the artisanal and creative work that is carried out in them.
As explained by Veronica Lopez "it is about making known, through their work, those other capacities that people with disabilities have.In the attention to this group, it is intended to achieve an integral development of its potential and one of the fundamental pillars To achieve this, creative and craft work is carried out, which not only enables the stimulation and development of individual capacities, but also facilitates, promotes and develops the link between society and disability ".
The 1st Handicraft Regional Fair of people with disabilities, through its market, is a space for sharing, with the presence of professionals and people with disabilities, in which the work carried out is updated, revalued and promoted.
"The celebration of this regional handicraft fair is going to become the best showcase in this area and the work and drive of the associative movements is also valued," said Verónica López.
Afes, New Foundation Los Albares, Alfa, Prometheus, Ceom, the Canteras Center, the Reina Sofía Day Center, Apcom, Aidemar and Afemce are some of the associations that have participated in this meeting, which will be closed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, Manuel Marcos Sánchez.
