The investment of 287,700 euros foreseen in the Plan of Action of Regional Dynamization of Works and Municipal Services (POS) of 2016 and 2017 for the municipality of Archena allows the improvement of a score of streets in the locality.
The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, visited with the mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernandez, some of the streets that have already been arranged with this plan that manages the Ministry.
Of the total investment, 272,160 euros correspond to the Community and the rest is contributed by the City Council.
Andrés Carrillo stated that "with this investment the municipality of Archena is carrying out the improvement of its streets to facilitate the transit of neighbors and vehicles and adapt them to the accessibility regulations."
The works planned in the Plan of 2016 allowed the road conditioning of the street of the Immaculate Conception, which presented the firm very deteriorated with numerous bumps.
Work was done on a space of 1,105 square meters, in which pavements and new pavement were installed.
Also paved with asphalt agglomerate the streets Maestro Miguel Fernandez, Avenue Carretera del Balneario, Vanezuela street, Bolivia, Alhama, Vera Cruz, Clavel, Las Minas, Albudeite, Torrepacheco and three pedestrian crossings were built raised on the avenue Ronda del Ope.
All these works are already finished.
These projects also foresee the installation of new pavement of cobblestone in the streets Mayor and San Juan, whose works will begin soon.
The overall budget for all these actions is 131,500 euros.
POS 2017 contemplates a total investment of 156,234 euros in this municipality (148,421 euros contributed by the Community), for three projects of improvement in the paving of streets, that are in the process of contracting.
Improvement works will be carried out in order to adapt them to the current accessibility regulations, and to differentiate the pedestrian transit zones, vehicles and parking in the streets around Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, in the hamlet of La Algaida.
Also will be paved the vials Maestro Pepe and Argentina.
In addition, it will act in the streets Salzillo and San Juan Bosco to adapt the sidewalks to the current normative of accessibility, to place cobblestone in the sidewalk and to asphalt the zone of the road.
The POS includes the street conditioning of the streets surrounding the Archena market, with the construction of new sidewalks and road paving in La Noria, Poniente and Salzillo streets.
65 works in 41 municipalities
The Works and Services Plan for 2017 will reach the 41 municipalities of the Region with less than 50,000 inhabitants.
This action includes more than 7.8 million euros, of which six are covered by the Autonomous Community, and the realization of 65 works, mainly improvement in streets and sidewalks, renovation of public lighting, works in parks, replacement of services And works in municipal facilities (cultural, social centers, markets, etc).
The objective of this Plan is to articulate the collaboration of the regional government for the integral and adequate provision of services of local competence, as well as to reduce the deficit in the infrastructures and basic equipments of the municipalities of the Region with population less than 50,000 inhabitants.
The actions to be carried out have been submitted to citizen participation in each of the municipalities, and were requested by the municipalities.
In addition, they have been ratified by the Regional Council of Local Cooperation, in which the municipalities of the Region are represented.
The Minister recalled that "the Works and Services Plan for the year 2018 will be biennial in order that municipalities can carry out larger works, as they will have more funding and more time to execute."
