The Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunities, Violante Tomás, along with the mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernandez, attended today the events of the XVII anniversary of the social center for older people, which has 2,479 members.
The Department of Family and Equal Opportunities allocates 662,000 euros to the care of older people in this municipality.
At present, it is being financed with 583,000 euros the 54 places of the residence of elderly people 'New Azahar'.
In addition, the care for the elderly in the day care center for dependent people, which holds 10 places, has a contribution of 79,000 euros.
Violante Tomás explained that "a great budgetary effort has been made to meet the demand for places in this residence, in which the Instituto Murciano de Acción Social hired 14 more places last year."
