The president of the Community of Irrigators of the Acequia de Archena, Juan José Rojo, has given to the Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernandez, the project of 'Improvement and Modernization of the Irrigation Infrastructures of the Acequia de Archena'.
Of this infrastructure 2,300 irrigators are served from seven municipalities, including Archena.
This project contains as urgent works to carry out the corresponding to the intubation and its complementary works of the current channel of the acequia in several sections that suffer enough losses and even problems of collapse.
These sections refer to the Paraje de la Morra, Hurtado and the Rambla del Arco.
The total number of meters to be filled is more than 1,100 linear meters.
The mission of the Mayor is now to seek sufficient funding in regional and other state institutions to be able to undertake and implement such an important project for the municipality of Archena.
The project submitted also specifies that the duration of the works would be 90 days and its final cost will amount to more than 350,000 euros.
