The Municipal Government Board has approved at its weekly meeting, among other matters, the contracting of the campaign for control and treatment of mosquito populations in the river Segura for this year 2017, for which a budget of almost 4,000 euros
Work to combat flying insect pests along the riverbanks will consist of prevention measures and direct action by insecticides to combat the pest.
Eight insect and mosquito insect disinfestation treatments will be carried out in the ovicidal, larvicidal and adulticidal phases from April to September.
It will act in shallow areas of the river banks, where the incidence of sun rays is greater and vegetation and solid substrate provide a suitable habitat for the biological development of flies and mosquitoes, according to the pest control technical report .
Also at the same meeting was approved the agreement of collaboration with the music groups of Archena for the celebration of Young Week of 2017, for an amount of 1,300 euros.
