The Councilors of Presidency, Fulgencio García, and Security, Antonio José Palazón, together with the president of the Club Ruta del Sol, Joaquín Ros, have given the opening to the XVII Rally Region of Murcia, which has left this morning from the Balneario de Archena.
40 vehicles of different makes and models of old and classic cars have started this new edition of the Rally of Antique Cars that today will have inside its route to the municipality of Jumilla, according to the circuit marked by the XVII Rally Region of Murcia of Antique and Classic Cars .
In the afternoon, they will return to Archena, where they are expected to complete all stages of this edition.
During the weekend they will also travel to Caravaca and Molina de Segura.
In total, the cars of the Region 40 are exhibited on cars registered between 1907 and 1964. Amongst the vehicles, the North American brands abound, especially the Chenard Walcker, of which there are very few units, as well as the Packard and the Hupmobile.
Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, Cadillac and Mercedes models will also travel.
The itinerary of the Region Rally of Murcia of Old and Classic Cars, organized by the Club Ruta del Sol, is different every year.
The purpose is to show in each edition different points of regional interest, taking advantage of the exhibition so that pilots and visitors know the culture, history, gastronomy and customs of the municipalities to which they travel.
For this reason, the pilots of these vintage cars are also expected to visit museums and emblematic and historic buildings, among other activities.
