Councilor for the Environment, Fulgencio García, and Pedro Sáez, Director of the AMIAB Group (National Association of Persons with Disabilities), and Antonio Brox, Manager of this group in Murcia, presented this morning in Archena the III Basketball Party for the Recycling, to be held in this town next Monday, December 19.
The match for recycling is an exhibition meeting involving players of wheelchair basketball teams such as BSR Amiab and the Orthomol of Murcia along with UCAM Murcia players.
The objective is to awaken the social conscience in a double way: the equality of opportunities of the disabled, represented by the adapted sport, and the importance for the environment and the society of the correct recycling of the electronic trash.
The party encourages attendees to dispose of their waste electrical and electronic equipment: appliances, telephones, computers, televisions, battery operated toys, lamps, etc.
All waste collected in the containers enabled for this purpose in this act will be properly recycled.
Through this small gesture for the environment citizens will participate in the draw, that same day, gifts like consoles, tablets, ipds and telephones.
The party is the end of a campaign carried out by AMIAB in all schools in the municipality to raise awareness among school children about the importance of the environment and therefore the recycling of all electrical and electronic equipment and the dispute of the basketball game is made with The objective of sensitizing the spectator to the importance of being able to play in wheelchairs.
During the campaign, children have been motivated to bring batteries and electrical appliances to the party for recycling.
