The Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment and the City of Murcia will study the feasibility of including Mount Ope, whose ownership is 75 per cent private and 25 percent by the Consistory of the town, in the catalog Public utility (CUP).
The Minister Adela Martinez-Cache met with the Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez, noting that "we will offer advice that the City required on Mount Ope".
In this regard, both tried on the current state of the mountain, because of the risk of landslides on the slopes of the same.
Ope Mount is located north of the municipality, and is the most height of the town (276 meters) in addition to the most representative and emblematic of the hills surrounding Archena.
Its peak, topped by a cross, can be identified from any point of the term.
The white limestone that form do not facilitate the development of vegetation, although in the past, in wetter times, hosted her skirt eucalyptus and pine trees.
Also at the meeting it agreed that the two governments will work together to develop a series of projects to improve sanitation and water.
