The Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, will request the Directorate for Women and Gender Diversity of the Autonomous Community to set up in Archena a point of Psychological Care for minors exposed to gender violence, which would be managed directly by this Regional Government service, so called 'SAPMEX', according to the meeting that the first councilor has held with the professionals of the Department and with the owner, María José Guillén.
The infrastructures would be run by the Archena City Council itself. The function of the Psychological Attention Service for minors exposed to Gender Violence (SAPMEX) is to carry out psychological interventions with underage girls, boys and adolescents, whose mothers have been cared for in specialized resources of the Directorate of Women and CAVI , for being victims of gender violence. The main objective of this service is to reduce the psychological impact on minors, derived from exposure to violence, as well as to enhance their personal resources to facilitate a good emotional adjustment in their daily life.
This resource will be carried out by professional psychologists specializing in child psychology and family abuse.
