| The agreement establishes the temporary assignment of the properties under usufruct regime for a maximum of four years, renewable annually | The Consistory may allocate the homes to rent at affordable prices or to the accommodation of people in a situation of social emergencyThe Company for the Management of Assets from Bank Restructuring (Sareb) has signed an agreement with the Archena City Council (Murcia Region) for the temporary transfer of five homes for social purposes.
The agreement -first that the company initiates with a Murcian administration- will be valid for four years, renewable annually up to a maximum of four.
During that period, the Town Hall will be in charge of managing the properties to meet the housing needs of people at risk of exclusion.Sareb will receive in exchange for the transfer a fixed monthly consideration of 125 euros.
The payments will be used by the company mainly to cover insurance and community expenses.
For its part, the City Council will assume the charges corresponding to the management of the home, as well as its ordinary maintenance and Real Estate Tax (IBI), among others.In 2013 Sareb created a social park that included 2,000 homes and it rose to 4,000 in 2015.
Currently, the park for social purposes reaches 10,000 buildings, after the company approved in early 2020 its expansion with the objective of promoting the transfer of flats to administrations that present housing problems.Since its creation, Sareb has signed temporary transfer agreements with 13 autonomous communities and 24 municipalities.
At present, it has more than 2,785 homes committed to the administrations - from which almost 11,150 people can benefit -, while around 7,215 properties are still available for the same purposes.At the same time, it has reached agreements for the sale of flats with administrations interested in nurturing their social park with Sareb properties.
Specifically, the communities of the Canary Islands (30 units) and the Basque Country (9), as well as the municipalities of Madrid (16) and Badalona (2), have acquired the company's homes.
