They want to create a grant to help self-employed, hospitality and retail rentals and / or losses that have suffered a reduction in income of more than 40%. That the closure of bars and restaurants in the Murcia region, announced this Wednesday, is going to be a serious blow to the sector is not unknown to anyone.
For that reason, from the PSOE of Archena, they have not been slow to launch a proposal to create a line of municipal subsidies aimed at helping them in the face of this serious setback. The Socialists propose to create subsidies, in a competitive competition regime, to self-employed people who have their activity in the municipality of Archena, to help pay mortgages (of the business), rents and economic losses for the self-employed, hospitality and retail business that has suffered a reduction in revenue of more than 40% of its average turnover.
To do this, they propose to the Government Team to allocate at least 150,000 euros of the 2020 budget not executed through a credit modification. But in addition to this line of credits from the city council, the Socialists also bet on modifying, once again, the municipal tax ordinance for a 100% discount on the urban solid waste collection rate and street cleaning, not only for hotel establishments of two , three and four stars, as was approved, but also to the bars and restaurants of the municipality. "The hotel and restaurant sector in Archena cannot face another bolt in the municipality without financial aid," says the spokesman for the Municipal Socialist Group, Gonzalo Caracena; which adds that "we are aware that it is not the responsibility of the City Council to create these aids, but we cannot stand idly by without offering any help after they have been closed for months during confinement and with numerous restrictions since the return to the "new normal". In fact, the Socialists recall that there are numerous municipalities in the Region and the rest of Spain that have launched economic aid lines to their self-employed and hoteliers to face the Covid crisis19, while the PP Government Team in Archena has not moved a finger by the sector beyond expanding terraces.
