The Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández and the Councilors for Sports, Fulgencio García Nicolás and the Councilor for the Presidency, Mario Alcaraz Mármol, visited the municipal summer swimming pool facilities this morning to verify the proper functioning that is being carried out in all swimming courses and activities scheduled at these municipal facilities during the month of August.

During her visit, she has supervised that all the hygiene and protection measures against Covid-19 are being correctly complied with for greater user safety. The First Municipal Authority has stated that "the City Council of Archena has made an important effort to provide service to all archeneros and archeneras following strict safety and hygiene measures to prevent any contagion of covid-19".

Likewise, it has indicated feeling "very satisfied with the behavior of all the users of the pool, who have accepted with good pleasure, all the security measures that have been put in place". Before the summer, municipal workers carried out various works to adapt the facilities to various security measures to prevent the spread of COVID19.

These have consisted, among others, in the expansion of the main entrance to avoid accumulation of users, the closing of old changing rooms, the incorporation of a bar-restaurant service inside and in defining, through signs, the distances to be fulfilled in all spaces where users and families stay or move. In addition, specific measures have been taken daily in order to be as rigorous and cautious as possible.

For example, each time a class shift ends, the pool staff is in charge of cleaning and disinfecting chairs, ladders and all kinds of access to it for the following students and companions.

Similarly, the chairs are separated by the corresponding meters and eating and drinking is prohibited in these rooms. Despite the fact that the daily activity of the summer pool has been altered with strict hygiene measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the influx of people for free bathing has been increased in this month of August, to one average of 250 bathers per day.

In the same vein, the swimming courses have managed to instruct more than 200 students this month.
